If you want to learn FPM, this book is the one!
I have several books written by James Wood, and he is perhaps the best author of SAP-related topics out there today. This book is exceptional! It is extremely well organized, and it provides a thoughtful progression of the topic of FPM that keeps building upon what you just learned. If you've read technical books, you know how often you encounter a situation where the author introduces a term and just assumes that you know what it means without any explanation offered. James Wood never does this--the language he uses is clear and readily understandable. When a new concept is introduced, it is either fully explained on the spot, or else Mr. Wood will write something along the lines of "I introduce ______ here, and don't worry if you don't fully understand it yet, we will go into greater detail in chapter 8." All in all, this is technical writing that really helps you learn quickly and relatively easily. It is detailed without being tedious, and it is very readable without being simplistic. It's truly a great book--don't hesitate to order it. You'll be glad you did.
