Quality Speaks!
Of all the sound-related items I ever received, this is probably the highest rated one in terms of quality, performance, and output I ever tried. This is the Technics SA-C100 CD receiver, featuring an amazing sound quality, a very thoughtful internal configuration, and a device that is made with future-proofing to last for the upcoming decade or so.DesignThis CD Receiver packs a combination of a retro and modern design. It sits comfortably in between and therefore is suitable to fit any type of room in terms of merging with the decoration. The black colour makes it classy and when placed in any room, it really adds a unique charm. Part of buying a very expensive item like this is the design hence why I am commenting on that. The outer part contains several ports on the rear, which are not visible, and a neat front that packs a sharp basic display.PerformanceFirst, to really enjoy the full potential of this receiver, a decent set of speakers is definitely a must. This is a game changer as the receiver is able to transmit amazing sound output thanks to the plethora of fidelity features it packs. It is not advertised as HiFi but in my opinion it provides a paralleled performance. I think this is enhanced with the twin power supply technology, although I am not an expert to confirm that. Connection wise, once everything is set up via the app, this receiver works flawlessly across services. We currently have Amazon music, Spotify, and Apple Music at home and I managed to connect with the three of them with no issue at all.Verdict:This is definitely a niche product considering the price tag, but for those who really value sound quality and fidelity, impeccable performance, compatibility across devices, and much more, this product is definitely a must, as long as it is within your budget range.Design: 5/5Performance: 5/5Sound Quality: 5/5Setup: 5/5

Seriously impressive
Very impressed with this system. Very simple to set up and coupled with my Tannoy Eyris 3 speakers sounds absolutely amazing no matter what type of music I play. Extremely balanced sound ,sounds great at even very low volume. Streaming music from either Amazon or Apple Music is a breeze. This system has really livened up my music collection.

Top sound quality and build but there are design flaws
I purchased this Technics system to sit on my desk next to my laptop where I spend a lot of time. I am a serious music and hi-fi fan so I wanted a system that was a hybrid between full hi-fi separates and something considerably better than small stand alone players and it fits the bill perfectly. It is also smaller in length than a standard piece of original hi-fi separate kit.The system plays CD's but it also has digital and FM radio plus it plays Bluetooth via any connection you throw at it meaning you can play YouTube, Spotify, etc in great hi-fi sounding stereo which is a wonderful bonus bringing so much more music, etc.The rear allows you to connect other hi-fi separates e.g. cassette, mini disc and even a turntable, there is also a jack on the front to enable you to connect portable MP3 players and possibly laptops. It's a futureproof system and that was part of the attraction for me.Pros -Incredible sound quality (which you dictate as you have to add speakers of your choice so the better the speakers, the better the sound). An all round amp/receiver which you can connect almost any device to.Futureproof Bluetooth connection and sockets to connect modern devices.Relative ease of use but read the manual to get the most out of it e.g. saving radio stations.Sleek design with a very modern look.Cons -If you lose the remote control you can't use the system as the play, forward, back, choice of playback mode, dimmer, almost everything bar the volume seems to be controlled by the remote which is bordering on the ridiculous, you have to reach for the remote every time you use it. I only hope they sell spare remotes. If you insert the CD it does not recognise it so you still have to change it to CD mode and press play (once again using the remote), this is also the same issue when you change playback mode to radio, Bluetooth, etc. You also need the remote to go up and down the radio stations, no remote, no system. The design of the top loading CD player is not to my taste, it looks cumbersome and out of place with the sleek design and you have to use a finger to slide it to the side to open it, put the CD inside and slide it back to close it (you can also see the CD revolving around like a record on a turntable and as this is on my desk, it is annoying and I end up putting the CD sleeve over it to cover it up).Overall as with more expensive hi-fi kit, it's essentially all about the sound quality and this delivers, you can buy much cheaper compact systems with equally convenient features but the Marantz, Denon and Panasonic ones I tried were not even close sound wise. You get what you pay for and you're paying for the sound and quality build here.

Smart and well-built
As someone who still likes to play CDs this smart piece of equipment ticks not only that box but most other forms of music streaming. The sound quality and the build quality is excellent. A tad expensive but worth it.
