This kit is definitely beginner friendly
There are videos available that explain individual stitches and how to progress to the next step as well as a full on tutorial for how to make each pictured item. The videos are SUPER helpful when you need help figuring out how to do something. There is audio explaining how to start, how to keep going and how to end.The included yarn is soft and all accessories were included. Everything needed to make the three fruit pieces is included.

Not for beginners
I love some of the different designs in this kit that include puff stitches rather than just the traditional SC most amigurumi uses. That said I definitely needed some guidance from the included videos but found them helpful and completed the projects no problem afterward. Unlike other kits I’ve got from Amazon, I didn’t have much yarn or stuffing left over from this kit, which was fine, but it doesn’t leave much room for error.

Cute and fun
As a beginner, who knows about crocheting, I love you getting this kit. I am visual and hands-on learner, so I really love how they include videos to guide me through all of the stages. I recommend to anybody who is interested in learning how to crochet. It would also make a great gift for the craft lover family this Christmas.

Cute Crochet Kit, But NOT for Beginners
Our daughter is always asking us to try new things so thought this kit listed as “beginner” would be great. The kit comes with everything you need to make three cute food items (lemon, peach and orange). Instructions are provided and QR codes to link to tutorial videos. We liked that these were small little projects to start with as a new crocheter; however, the stitch abbreviations are not easy for even someone with even a little bit of crochet knowledge. The Row-by-Row directions are a shorthand for the stitches (sl st = slip stitch) and as a beginner it is not ideal to go back and forth to see the abbreviations. We are hopeful that as we get through each project, we will remember what to do and be able to use the shorthand instructions. We found the videos that are provided to be helpful, short, but long enough that the individual demonstrating the stitch was able to show it being done multiple times. One stitch we were not able to find in the videos was the slip stitch, but we were able to perform another search and find another source to watch how to perform the stitch. The yarn provided is very thin to work with and difficult because the strands do not stay together as you pull the crochet hook through. Over time I believe the products used to make the yarn will become fuzzy. Also, as a beginner having a yard that is not of great quality can make the project a bit frustrating when you have to take things apart multiple times to fix mistakes. The kit comes with additional pieces that we did not understand where they were used in the projects. A small bag of stuffing to put in the center of the crocheted items, a crochet hook (2.5mm) and even some glue sticks (glue gun not included). We wish that we could show you a competed picture, but it is just not in the cards, with trying to learn the pattern and stitches used it has been set aside often from frustration!! Hopefully they don’t take down the videos, so we still have time to use them to complete the project.

Relies very heavily on online video instruction
This is a large project kit that makes 6 different crocheted fruits: orange, pineapple, grape, lemon, strawberry, and peach. The fruits are designed to be used as a fob and the kit comes with plastic circular rings and little plastic decorative elements to put on them. I don’t think the plastic rings are good for keys, but you can use it to attach your fruit to a regular key ring, backpack, purse, or wherever you want a little decorative element. The fruits are really cute (isn’t most amigurumi cute, though???)The kit comes with everything you need: lots of yarn in very fruity colors, crochet hook, stuffing, stitch markers, the rings/bling for making it into a fob, a box of pins, glue sticks, and what appears to be a tube of needles. There’s a lot of stuff. They give you three glue sticks, so there’s a lot of gluing of different parts and pieces. I’m hoping to figure out how to stitch the parts together though, so I don’t have to rely on glue. There’s also a separate pattern instruction sheet for each fruit. I should warn you, there is NO printed instruction for how to actually do the crochet stitches. My second photo shows most of the extent of the preliminary info before you get into the pattern for the fruit. They explain a few of the complicated stitches you will need to make the puffs on the pineapple, grapes, etc. but it’s not at all clear exactly what to do (“4 unfinished HDC”…. Unfinished how?) So, in my opinion this is NOT a beginner kit, and especially one to take off-grid somewhere. You need to be near a computer or tablet to watch the videos if you’re not well-versed in basic crochet stitches or comfortable with how they want you to do the puff, cluster, and popcorn stitches.Because there is a separate instruction sheet for each fruit, you could share this project with someone else if you have another hook of the same size.Cute kit, everything included, but definitely not for beginners.
