It was a bit hard to get it working for the first time with the app. Mainly, let my niece just use it without the app, she loves it.

The media could not be loaded.  I’ll start by saying the instructions are very small. I needed a magnifying glass to read them.The device comes with an USB to USB-C charging cable. The LED screen shows when it needs to be recharged. It has an auto shut off process if it hasn’t been used for 30 seconds.Whilst not necessary, you can download an app (Fitdays+) to record the height of up to 24 people. The app will show the time and date of when each measurement is taken.Measurements are shown in centimetres and go up to 200.8cm, You can change the units of measurement in the app to feet and inches.There’s only one button on the machine so it’s super easy to use. When you turn it on, it immediately shows you the room temperature. I found that to be pretty accurate.You then stand with your back against a wall with your feet turned out. Put the base of the device flat to the wall and the body should lay on top of your head with the button facing the ceiling. Press the button once to start measuring and then again to stop. Wait for 2 beeps. The screen will then show you your height.The yellow circle you see on the device is actually a spirit level, but it’s so small I’m not sure how useful it really is unless you’re looking down on someone you’re measuring and you have decent lighting.If you measure yourself more than once you’ll find slight variances, so this isn’t a 100% accurate way of measuring your height. My measurements were different by roughly a centimetre.If you’ve got loads of growing children or grandchildren then this is probably a good thing to have around rather than marking your walls with pencil! It is a little expensive though.

This is quite a unusual piece of kit. I wasn't aware that devices like this existed.It's great that they do though, as keeping a record of the kids' heights as they grow will be something nice to look back on in years to come. With this device making that whole process very easy, allowing me to record the height quickly and easily and then have the information recorded on my phone.I have compared the height readings to manually measuring and they are all accurate too, so that's good to know.

If your child stands still and lets you measure them then this probably isn’t necessary, though still fun and easy to use.If, like us, your child won’t stand still and takes any measuring tools away from you to play with, then this will be a game changer.This goes flat against the wall point downwards. It fires down beyond your child’s head and measures the distance. It’s pretty much immediate and even we can get our child to stand still enough for that. Even if he did look up constantly.The readings were consistent as we tried a few times. It also surged being played with. Which is nice.There’s a thermometer on there but I can’t really say if it’s accurate or not and I’m not sure why it’s on there. This would be just as great without it.You do get a few errors every now and again if it moves and it takes a while to reset. That’s my only gripe with it. Otherwise it’s amazing.I think the value is good. We’re very happy it.

The actual measuring tool looked and felt quality. You don’t need the app to use it but it is pre set to cms and you can’t change that without using the app. I prefer using feet and inches for height so I tried to use app. Now the app is supposed to be the modern day version of putting notches and writing dates on your door frame or wall and it maps your child’s growth progress on the app instead. I downloaded it via the QR code on the instruction leaflet enclosed, filled out my email address and was sent a verification code to be able to use the app. It was at this point after I’d entered the code the app wouldn’t load. The app was frustratingly slow to operate and after 7 attempts I gave up.It recommends you charge it for 5 mins before each use for an accurate reading and it also acts as a room temperature guide. There is a spirit level bubble on the top so you know its level. So my test today is using it without the app so any readings won’t be logged or saved.I tested this on my teenage son and the first attempt it didn’t work. It only showed the temp. Then I did 9 measurements in a row on an a young adult that could keep still. Younger children will probably fidget…These were the reading’s…1/ 128.3 cms = 4ft 2 1/22/ 170.5 = 5.7 1/43/ 175.1 = 5. 94/ 171.7 = 5. 7 1/25/ 173.2 = 5.86/ 173.0 = 5.87/ 173.3 = 5.88/ 155.0 = 5.19/ 174.7 = 5.8 1/2So we then tried using a tape measure and it came out around 5ft 7 ish but could be 5ft 7 1/4 to 5ft 7 1/2 allowing for the tape measure bending.So to be honest I didn’t find this to be very accurate and you need to know what ball park you’re in to know if it is accurate, so what with the app not being user friendly either I think I’ll stick to the tape measure…

The height measurement device is accurate (which is most important), also light in weight and using rechargeable battery which is environmentally friendly. It is perfect for young kids measurements and health control. However, there’s design limitation , i.e not easy to use for some kids. The arm length is short so if there’s any block/ obstacle between the detector and the ground, the measurement is error. Similarly if we wear thick clothes which may face the same problem. For this price over £30 I would expect better design.

Ok, I'll admit that I was a little skeptical about this one, but it's actually really neat AND incredibly accurate. App is simple to install, and pairing it was a breeze. Just make sure you aren't blocking the sensor and it works flawlessly. I have teens and tweens now, but this would have been such a great little gadget to have around when they were smaller. Highly recommend as a gift for the techy parents in your life who seem to have everything!

I think this tool is super cool. I am a huge fan of smart devices and how they contribute to the simplicity of life and for normal everyday tasks. My family hates my fascination with smart products! Lolol...They laughed at this one too until we used it and even they couldn't deny it's a pretty cool smart gadget. Is it something I really needed? No! But it's super fun and cool and I am that Millennial Mom!!!Either way, it works well and is easy enough for my kids to operate by themselves too! Neat product!

This does work, but is much more complicated than expected. The height seems accurate and the quality is nice, but most people that have seen it feel a little uncomfortable with it, I regret that it has a human like look - goes a bit uncanny valley for some people.
