I bought this for my 3.5 year old daughter for Christmas. It seemed like a nice little set and she loves going out with it so that's a plus. However, the binoculars don't really magnify anything and the compass broke within 1 use (it wasn't dropped or bashed about, it snapped as it was opened by me) and the torch only worked twice. Now, the torch won't charge and only lights up when the charging button is being pressed. The bug finding and viewing elements seem good but are quite flimsy so I don't imagine they'll last very long when we start using them.I had hoped this set would be better quality, I didn't expect top notch equipment at this price but given that 2 items broke and the binoculars are more for show than use I am a little disappointed. My daughter is happy though

Some of the items fell apart in less than a day. The plastic on the torch fell apart exposing the wiring and I had to hot glue it back together. The bug catching scissor things immediately fell apart, and the rope on the binoculars isn't quite long enough to have it doubled so it sits on the child's chest, so instead you have to leave it hanging really long, which I wasn't too bothered about until my niece (who's almost 6) was running in the garden to see what creatures she could find and the binoculars dangling by her hips span around as she went and it gradually started spiralling up towards her neck, getting tight enough for her to notice. All in all it's not that big of a deal so long as you're paying attention while they're playing, but strangulation is something to be mindful of if you have a very active but also incredibly clumsy child who's sense of self-preservation is a bit lacking, whom you have to watch like a hawk, like my niece. I'm going to find a thicker cord and measure it to length to stop it happening again.

I’m really disappointed with this. I bought it as a Christmas present for my son but only opened it last night to wrap it. The magnifying glass is scratched all over and it’s now too late to return it in time for Christmas. My fault for not checking sooner, but their fault for seeking poor quality products 😞

My son loves the outdoors and in particular bugs so this little kit is fab. It contains everything he needs to go exploring and he especially liked the magnifying glass and the little pots to put the bugs in. The bag it all comes in is very sturdy also. It has been used many times and nothing has broken yet!!

This is a really cute set, great idea. I feel it may be a little over-priced as everything except for the binoculars were of a fairly cheap quality. We have still had a lot of fun finding bugs and exploring with these sets though, so I would definitely recommend them.

This was a birthday present for a 4 years old boy. Perfect! A few days after receiving this he went for a 2 hours big hunt. The magnifying glass is not great quality, but it's big and chunky for little hands to grab. The most important accessory is the bug box, which works well and it's great to use.

Great gift/contents. But... it arrived just as is with a huge address label stuck on top. This is a gift and it has totally ruined the presentation. The address label could at least have been stuck on the bottom of the box? There is no way of removing it without ripping the label/box underneath. Shame.

My 5 year old nephew LOVED this. Lots of grown up gadgets which made him feel very important. Maybe a sturdier hold-all would be a nice touch. But a wonderful gift for the outdoors.
